We are looking for a talented and passionate Level 3 Applied Science teacher to contribute to the Biology and Applied Science Department at Ashton Sixth Form College. The successful candidate will be accustomed to using highly effective teaching and learning methods and will create a welcoming, supportive and stimulating environment for students. We welcome applications from newly and recently qualified teachers, as well as established teachers with post 16 experience. The candidate will be joining a large, supportive and well-resourced team.

SENDCO and Resource Base Lead
This is an exciting opportunity for an inclusive and committed teacher and leader to join the leadership team at Longdendale High School. Required from September 2024, we wish to appoint an exceptional SENDCO and Resource Base Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and dynamic professional with a passion for ensuring the best provision for SEND students in all areas of school life to develop your career in an innovative, challenging and highly supportive secondary environment. The successful applicant will have responsibility for the strategic direction and management of SEND provision across the school and the strategic oversight and leadership of the school’s specialist ASC resource base that is due to open in the next academic year.
As an inspirational teacher with a passion for and a strong understanding of SEND provision and practice, your key responsibility will be to provide strategic leadership and direction that ensures consistent high quality provision for SEND students which secures striking impact on standards and outcomes for students in our school. We are seeking individuals who are interested in joining our board of trustees, to lead the Trust into the next phase of our development. We wish to appoint people who knows what steps are needed to improve a school in a sustainable manner, but with pace, and who has the inspirational and organisational qualities to take a strategic lead on that journey, whilst preserving and further developing the beliefs, values and culture of the Academies within the Trust.

In looking to fill these vacancies we are interested in applications from people with the skills outlined below:
Audit, finance and risk
The trust seeks a trustee with strong audit, finance and risk experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in a charity or non-profit organisation, as well as demonstrating experience from a commercial, retail or industry setting, including evidence of contribution to growing a business, chain of businesses or franchises, as well as experience of head office and organisational development, including driving efficiency improvements in central services.
Education and School Improvement
The trust seeks a trustee who possesses skills and experience from across the educational landscape, with a specific requirement for school leadership. Experience of working in a role with responsibility for school improvement is welcomed.
Business, Governance and Human Resources
The trust seeks individuals who possess a strong ‘general’ skillset from across the business sphere, with a specific requirement for growth management. Experience working in a role with responsibility for corporate governance, legal services or human resources would be valuable.
Commitment
Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.
The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during term time as a minimum. Board meetings are held at the Trust’s registered office at Ashton Sixth Form College (OL6 9RL), mainly in the evenings.
