Half Term one highlights!

23 October 2024

We’re delighted to have had such a positive start to the new academic year this half term, with plenty of highlights to celebrate!

In September, we were pleased to welcome Fairfield High School for Girls to Stamford Park Trust. We look forward to working closely with the dedicated staff at Fairfield, building on the school’s outstanding achievements and continuing to enhance the life chances of young people across all our academies.

We also welcomed many new students to the Trust, from Year 7s in our high schools to new Year 12s at Ashton Sixth Form College with a record number of families attending each event!

Our academies held their Open Evenings, where we proudly showcased the excellent work happening across the Trust, encouraging the next cohort to join us. Each evening was filled with excitement and energy as visitors explored our facilities and met our fantastic staff.

A special highlight was the visit from Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, to Rayner Stephens High School. He launched BeeLine, a groundbreaking careers tool that empowers young people to explore a variety of career paths and make informed decisions about their futures.

We also marked Mental Health Awareness Day across the Trust, engaging in various activities that reflected our commitment to promoting health and wellbeing for both staff and students.

Ashton Sixth Form College hosted the inaugural Student Leadership Conference at the Etihad Stadium. This inspiring event helped students further develop their leadership skills and encouraged them to pursue leadership roles after college.

Additionally, Executive Principal for Secondary, Melanie Wicks, led a Secondary School Middle Leadership Conference. The day focused on the importance of leading effective curriculum teams, with sessions on conducting impactful conversations, building high-performing teams, and fostering collaboration between departments across academies. This provided opportunities for sharing best practices and enhancing cooperation across the Trust.

We look forward to building on this positive momentum and continuing to work together across the Trust to achieve even greater success. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this half term such a success – we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
