Middle Leadership conference drives Excellence and Ambition across the Trust
Today, Executive Principal for Secondary, Melanie Wicks, hosted a Secondary School Middle Leadership Conference. The day focused on leading powerful curriculum teams, with sessions on having impactful conversations, creating high-performing teams, and collaborating with departments in other academies to share best practice and initiate conversations to create opportunities for further collaboration across the Trust.
We were delighted to welcome senior leaders from The Blue Coat School, who shared their experience of working together to create a successful curriculum and the important of middle leaders in this process. Melanie Wicks commented: “Today is all about collaboration, recognising that we’re all here to support each other as we work towards the same goal of Excellence and Ambition for all.
The main thing I wanted colleagues to take from the day was that communication with each other, sharing best practice, and learning from one another are key as we create effective and powerful leaders across the Trust.”
Staff found the day extremely valuable, with Kat Humphreys, Head of MFL at Longdendale, remarking: “It’s such a benefit of being part of a multi-academy that we can meet other Heads of Departments. It’s essential for us to be able to share best practice and learn from each other. This isn’t something you would usually have access to as a Head of Department, and the experience is invaluable.”
We’re incredibly proud of the wealth of expertise we have across the Trust, enabling us to host conferences like this that drive collaboration and strengthen leadership at all levels. By working together and learning from one another, we continue to move closer to our shared goal of excellence and ambition for all.
