Year 9 enjoyed their session of the Excellence and Ambition academy. A programme available to all students across the Trust to broaden their horizons and support them to achieve their ambitions.
First up Ashton Sixth Form College Director of Curriculum and Progression Rachel Smirke talked about employability and skills needed for students next steps and what they can be doing now to prepare.
Lee Mason managing director of Stately Strategic Recruitment Group also shared his experience of getting into work and gave students an insight into how students can develop now to be ready for the world of work!
High achievers spent the day with XL Manager Damian Windle, preparing for their next steps and applying themselves to achieve their full potential.
Students had the chance to learn a little more about university and making informed choices about their next steps through the College's Realising Aspirations Programme delivered by Alexandra Noble.
Finally, students spoke to the College’s careers advisors about skills needed in the work place and how to get there after their education with a fun and interactive session!
