Ashton Sixth Form College

Ashton Sixth Form College has been providing the highest quality of education in the area for over 40 years. it is a college with around 2200 16-19 year old students following study programmes which include A level and vocational.

We are very proud of our students’ achievements; we have a strong ethos of ambition and aspiration which runs through all aspects of college life.

The college's vision, transforming lives through learning, is a vision for all. We want all students to thrive and be successful and for all members of our community to feel a sense of belonging.

The college performs well, year-on- year, in both A-Level and vocational programmes and was judged to be Outstanding by Ofsted in 2020. Qualifications are important, and the main reason our students come to us, but we want to offer a much wider experience than this.

Our personal development programme is a real strength with over 200 trips and visits annually, over 150 Guest Speakers and a very wide choice of enrichment opportunities on offer through our Be Ambitious and Ashton Explore programme.

The College also offers Adult and Higher Education programmes for around 600 part time adult students following a variety of courses from entry level to postgraduate level. The college also offers teacher training and post 16 education with plans to offer a secondary route in the coming years. Both our 16-19 leavers and adult completers go onto an impressive range of destinations.
