Evening Administrative Assistant

The Higher & Adult Education Department offers a range of higher and adult education courses for post 19 students. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and efficient Evening Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. The role requires a confident, friendly, professional and helpful person who will be able to work using their own initiative providing a ‘front of house’ support service to students, visitors and staff at the main college reception/HE student services reception.
The role involves dealing with enquiries, answering phone calls, supporting learners with enrolment forms, taking course payments, directing students to classrooms and providing information as required. Experience of working in general administration with the public would be advantageous. The successful candidate will have effective administrative, IT and organisational skills and an understanding of what makes excellent customer care.
The core hours are a Wednesday and Thursday evening from 4:00pm - 9:00pm, term time only with flexibility to include occasional additional hours to support events, e.g. enrolment and information events outside of these times. The post holder reports to the Senior Admissions Officer, working as part of the Higher & Adult Education team.

Inclusive Learning (IL) is an outstanding support department, in an outstanding college. The IL team work collaboratively with curriculum and other support teams to ensure learner success. Part of our support offer is to organise exam access arrangements for those requiring adaptive teaching & learning. We are looking for a fully qualified EAA Assessor to co-ordinate this. The role also requires the candidate to work as assistant to the IL Manager; helping manage the IL team, working closely with internal & external services to ensure all our neurodiverse learners’ needs are met. The Law team at ASFC is made up of 4 members of staff, with the team teaching on a combination of A Level Law and BTEC Applied Law.
We are looking to recruit an excellent teacher to deliver on our BTEC Applied Law course. The teacher will be responsible for delivering consistently outstanding lessons to very enthusiastic groups of learners.
The department is well resourced, with all lessons timetabled in IT classrooms to allow the learners to complete their work. In addition to this, learners are given resources such as handouts, detailed instructions on how to complete assignments and there are also PowerPoint presentations relating to each individual lesson.
We welcome applications from newly and recently qualified teachers, as well as established teachers with post 16 experience.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding KS4 Attendance & Family Officer to join our school’s central admin and inclusion teams. The role plays a vital part in ensuring that all our students get to make the most out of school by having excellent attendance and punctuality.
The core purpose of the role is to provide a professional and effective service that improves student attendance at school. To work closely with families and outside agencies to support and monitor attendance in line with school policy.

Teaching Assistant – Level 3

We are looking to appoint a TA level 3 to join our team. The role is to support a key stage 3
male student with an EHCP who has SEMH as their primary need. The successful candidate
will support a student with their emotional literacy and learning whilst being mindful and
tailoring support to meet their educational needs. Whilst educational support is one of the
main aspects of the role, the appointed person will engage, motivate, support and guide their
students to achieving academic and personal goals. Working with small of students may also
be an aspect of the role.
Working within both the classroom environment and the Aspire Centre, delivering individual
support and intervention. Small group academic and pastoral programmes and interventions
where appropriate may also be an aspect of this role. This role is being advertised with the
intention that the successful candidate would provide consistent and appropriate support for
a student identified with a range of special educational needs, primarily SEMH.
Demonstrating the ability to form and maintain strong positive relationships with students
with a wide range of needs and particularly SEMH, is essential to the role. Previous
experience of working within a school environment and supporting students, particularly with
SEMH is important. A willingness to be flexible in your approach and the ability to carry out
all duties in line with school expectations is essential.

manner.

Audit, finance and risk
The trust seeks a trustee with strong audit, finance and risk experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in a charity or non-profit organisation, as well as demonstrating experience from a commercial, retail or industry setting, including evidence of contribution to growing a business, chain of businesses or franchises, as well as experience of head office and organisational development, including driving efficiency improvements in central services.
Education and School Improvement
The trust seeks a trustee who possesses skills and experience from across the educational landscape, with a specific requirement for school leadership. Experience of working in a role with responsibility for school improvement is welcomed.
Business, Governance and Human Resources
The trust seeks individuals who possess a strong ‘general’ skillset from across the business sphere, with a specific requirement for growth management. Experience working in a role with responsibility for corporate governance, legal services or human resources would be valuable.
Commitment
Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.
The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during term time as a minimum. Board meetings are held at the Trust’s registered office at Ashton Sixth Form College (OL6 9RL), mainly in the evenings.
