Administrative Assistant (Student Support)

Ashton Sixth Form College is privileged to have wide and extensive student support system designed to help young people overcome any challenges they may face during their time at college. The service includes our tutorial programme, Inclusive Learning, our Bursary and Attendance Officer as well as our counselling service and health and wellbeing offer. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified, enthusiastic Administrative Assistant with a flare and passion for working with young people towards improving themselves. The post holder will liaise closely with Senior Tutor Managers, Senior Tutors and Teachers in order to support and inspire students to achieve their full potential. One such support mechanisms is our Study Plus system, which provides an opportunity for students to conduct independent work in a designated area with a Senior Tutor and Administrative Assistant available for supervision. Teachers and Senior Tutors may refer students to Study Plus for additional support in order to catch up on work, tests, or any other study-related tasks. The post holder will play a significant role in coordinating these support sessions as well as other duties as described in in the job description. MIS Developer and Systems Analyst

Ashton Sixth Form College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate MIS Developer and Systems Analyst to work in our MIS team. You will be joining the college at an exciting time, at the beginning of a new three-year strategic phase. We have much to build upon: the college has an excellent reputation, a strong track record of outcomes for students, an aspirational and supportive ethos, a hugely dedicated and talented staff, and of course, Ofsted ‘outstanding’ status. The challenge of this role is to strengthen the already well-established and successful work done in MIS by supporting all college systems and ensuring the smooth running of all functions.
This role will appeal to someone who has a background in developing and coordinating IT systems, with an understanding of the educational context in a Sixth Form or GFE college. A recent maths or computer science graduate, or someone with knowledge and experience working in a college MIS team will be ideal for this role. We are looking for someone with the drive and passion to deliver outstanding support that enables our commitment to providing the best possible education and experience for all students and staff. The role will involve working with senior and middle leaders to support all aspects of their work with MIS, developing systems to help drive up standards and outcomes.

Catering Assistant/Cashier

To ensure the school can provide an effective and efficient catering service we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic candidate to join our catering team.
Working effectively, alongside other members of the team. Your role will mainly be operating a till. Ensuring students purchases are completed within a specific time frame, in a warm and friendly manner.
Complying with stock rotation procedures and refilling and replacing consumables and general cleaning duties will also be part of the role.
Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. A willingness to be flexible in your approach, acting with integrity and having the ability to carry out all duties in line with school expectations and health and safety guidelines are all qualities which are essential. All staff are expected to act as effective role models and be prepared to demonstrate the school core values and be able to support students in an appropriate and professional manner to ensure all users have a positive experience when using the catering facilities at the school.

Kitchen Assistant

In order to ensure the school is able to provide an effective and efficient catering service we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic candidate to join our catering team.

Duties will centre around washing up by hand and with machine, general cleaning of equipment, floors, and surfaces. Pasta bar duties will be serving meals and operating a till.

At times this will involve the use of the tills when serving students. Teaching Assistant – Level 3
Grade E SCP 11-16 - £25,979 - £28,282 per annum FTE)

We are looking to appoint a TA level 3 to join our team. The role is to support a key stage 3 male student with an EHCP who has SEMH as their primary need. The successful candidate will support a student with their emotional literacy and learning whilst being mindful and tailoring support to meet their educational needs. Whilst educational support is one of the main aspects of the role, the appointed person will engage, motivate, support and guide their students to achieving academic and personal goals. Working with small of students may also be an aspect of the role.
Working within both the classroom environment and the Aspire Centre, delivering individual support and intervention. Small group academic and pastoral programmes and interventions where appropriate may also be an aspect of this role. This role is being advertised with the intention that the successful candidate would provide consistent and appropriate support for a student identified with a range of special educational needs, primarily SEMH.
Demonstrating the ability to form and maintain strong positive relationships with students with a wide range of needs and particularly SEMH, is essential to the role. Previous experience of working within a school environment and supporting students, particularly with SEMH is important. A willingness to be flexible in your approach and the ability to carry out all duties in line with school expectations is essential.

Audit, finance and risk
The trust seeks a trustee with strong audit, finance and risk experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in a charity or non-profit organisation, as well as demonstrating experience from a commercial, retail or industry setting, including evidence of contribution to growing a business, chain of businesses or franchises, as well as experience of head office and organisational development, including driving efficiency improvements in central services.
Education and School Improvement
The trust seeks a trustee who possesses skills and experience from across the educational landscape, with a specific requirement for school leadership. Experience of working in a role with responsibility for school improvement is welcomed.
Business, Governance and Human Resources
The trust seeks individuals who possess a strong ‘general’ skillset from across the business sphere, with a specific requirement for growth management. Experience working in a role with responsibility for corporate governance, legal services or human resources would be valuable.
Commitment
Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.
The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month during term time as a minimum. Board meetings are held at the Trust’s registered office at Ashton Sixth Form College (OL6 9RL), mainly in the evenings.
